Melissa is an excellent art teacher and has taken me from not being able to draw a straight line to making oil paintings I can be proud of. Her own skills are prodigious and while she has rightly won international awards for her pastel paintings she is also capable of excellence in charcoal, oil and watercolor and can teach all these mediums. Her desire as a teacher is that her students progress and is as happy as they are when they succeed. Beginners are given the attention they need to build skills and confidence and more advanced students benefit from her refined and critical eye to develop even further as artists. The classes are small and the lessons are personalized, even when there are students of different abilities in the same class

Melissa is the best art teacher I've ever had! I've been drawing portraits on my own for years but felt like I was hitting a wall with my skill set so I decided to take a class. Within a few months of starting Melissa's class I had improved more than the last few years on my own (seriously). She teaches lots of great tricks and skills for improving your art, whether you're a beginner or not, and is so friendly!
