Kind of felt like sleeping in someone's guest room, having breakfast included was really convenient and it was very accommodating. Only one functional shower that I could find, but it wasn't a problem for this trip. I would definitely stay here again.

I have been guest at Chez Jean on and off since 2001. Groom meeting traveling musicians to Cirque during Soleil performers, the guests, staff and everyone is warm and friendly. Be ready for super casual and informal hostel experience that is cheap and straightforward!!! I will keep returning until I can't climb the stairs...luckily they have units on the ground floor too!

The price, people, and neighborhood makes this place a true gem. There are many beds tucked where ever they can be fit in. Definately rough around the edges yet in a homey way. Free toast, juice, coffee, and cereals in the morning come with your stay.

Ive stayed here now 3 times. Its super chill, they gave my friends and i a nicer room for just us even though we paid for the 8 bunk room. I never feel unsafe or that my belongings could be taken, great place if youre out late downtown. We came in at 3am no problem and left at 2pm. Amazing as always

This is by far the coolest hostel I have ever been to. The staff are absolutely wonderful and charismatic. There are so many different places to sleep, we slept in one of the private rooms which is a cool hippy van! 5 stars isn't enough to share how awesome this place is.
