Shakti Rock Gym

My favorite gym in Montreal, I still make the trek across the city even though there are a number of gyms closer to me. Shakti has a real sense of community, making it very easy to feel right at home. I love the density of the sets - great for improving route reading skills as well as creating your own path! The problems are typically very thoughtful and footwork dependent. The dihedral upstairs is my favorite feature ! All in all, the sets aren't soft, and there are always good people, good music, and good vibes. It's all V-FUN!

This is no cookie cutter, cross fit vibe-y, climb bro gym. A very down to earth place, environmentally conscious and politically engaged, with some awesome characters. Staff are friendly, prices are affordable, and all are welcome. Contrary to what some reviews are saying, this is absolutely a place for beginners, but don't show up expecting to be privately coached. You'll discover lots of options for workshops and coaching, from beginner to advanced, if you ask. A real gem, not just for Montreal but for the climbing community as a whole.

Such an amazing place to go climbing! I have climbed here for years now and it feels like my home now. The owners are amazing and always make people feel welcome. As a result, they attract such a diverse range of people. It is unlike any other gym in Montreal in the way the set their problems too which has helped me immensely in becoming a better climber. If you haven’t been here I recommend checking this place out.

11/10 would definitely recommend. This is my favorite climbing gym! Great culture and community, everybody is so nice and welcoming, it's always full of good vibes, and remarkably tasteful music choices that makes me even more motivated to send those projects. I often catch myself going there even on my rest days just to enjoy the vibes. 🤗
