I was there coming from Ottawa , Excellent food and good service .

I tried this place today, as I saw a sign outside for a Philly Cheese Steak sub! I took one bite and by reflex spat it out - NOT because it tasted 'bad' but because my brain was expecting something that tasted like a Philly Cheese Steak, which is either slightly seasoned steak or ground beef with cheese and maybe some onions and peppers. I saw they put lettuce and tomato... OK... but the first bite was a shocker because the sandwich had a generous quantity of a very sweet 'sauce' of some type. Imagine a steak sandwich where they slathered it with a big ladle full of strawberry jam. EDIT: duh... it's an Afghan adaptation. If you frequent Afghan restaurants, this is obviously a familiar flavor palette and you would really enjoy this sandwich. I couldn't eat it because it didn't taste like a steak sandwich and I don't like sweet dishes in general. I did pick out some pieces of the steak, however, which WAS tasty and had a nice peppery kick to it. I will try this place again but BEWARE! If you want a philly cheese steak, just order it with steak, cheese and onions without the sauce and all the other stuff they put on there. They should offer two versions - theirs and the boring traditional way. I'd call theirs the Jalalabad Cheese Steak! :) It's nice to see an ethnic restaurant make an adaptation of another culture's comfort food though. Like I said, I'll try them again.

great just found out that new location of cote vertu is opened right beside my work place. I love the promo of 1kg with the rice n salad n fries great combination for 3-4 persons.

Can't believe this restaurant doesn't have 5/5 stars ! The food is amazing. This is without a doubt one my fave places in Montreal. The ambiance is super cute and the staff is genuinely very kind :) I eat here so often and never get fed up!!! Must try their Ghazni Kabab !!!
