Royal Hotel West Edmonton, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

I stayed here over a month ago now for a family emergency. I found a great deal online. For the price, this hotel is great and the location is phenomenal. Only a few minutes drive to West Edmonton Mall but there was a smaller mall even closer. Its located right across the street from some Fast Food including McDonald’s and Pizza Hut. There’s also a gas station and a Safeway grocery store. A Walmart plaza was also a couple of minutes drive away. Literally conveniently located. If you’re not familiar with the city like I was then you have what you need within a small driving distance. The front desk staff was super helpful and friendly. You get vouchers for a hot or cold breakfast. The hot is a jimmy dean breakfast sandwich with coffee, tea or juice. I believe the cold was a muffin, yogurt and coffee, tea or juice. Bed was super comfortable and the water in the shower can go really hot which is what I like. The shower head where the water comes out could be cleaner and the Keurig wasn’t all that clean. I communicated this with the Staff at the front desk. And that’s really my only critique for this place. For the price, a great place to stay.

Very good value overall. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a charming lobby, as well as gym and pool facilities. Unfortunately due to Covid they were shut). The in house bar looks decent as well. Lastly complimentary late checkout was not an issue. Will certainly return

Stayed here March 16, 2021 as I had to be in the city for some medical tests. I didn’t have a reservation but I chose The Royal because as an accommodation operator myself, I quite liked their responses to some of their other reviews. I was absolutely thrilled Steven at the front desk allowed me to check in much earlier than their posted check in time as I was really tired. I wasn’t picky about the room type and he put me in a king size room in the executive wing which worked out really well because the other wing’s rooms don’t have windows that open. My room was clean, it was quiet, I was able to get a great night’s sleep and the customer service provided by Steven was excellent. The hotel is also close to lots of great restaurants that deliver which was convenient as theirs is currently closed due to Covid. The complimentary hot breakfast was a Jimmy Dean Bacon and Egg sandwich, coffee or tea and a bottle of juice or water. Sandwich could have been heated a bit longer but it wasn’t cold so I didn’t mind much. All in all, I will definitely stay here again and I’ll recommend it to others that need to stay in the west end.
