West Mall Outdoor Pool

First off, this is a public pool and any issues I may have with the pool are certainly redeemed by the fact that you can swim at this pool on a hot summer day free of charge. There are very few things in this city that are free. I've decided to practice free diving at this pool this summer before I train at the Olympium so I've been here for a large portion of the summer. I've seen as much as I think I could see with the flaws of this pool. The only flaws I've ever been aware of are as follows: 1. Every swimmer before entering|re-entering the pool, is supposed to shower. Yet when I shower, all the other guys walk right past the showers and enter the pool with whatever fluids e.t.c were on them before. I understand that perhaps some people don't want to take a cold shower, but this should be enforced by the lifeguards who run the pool. I can understand though that, it would be difficult to tell some 70 year old man that he can't swim if he doesn't shower so that's understandable. 2. The pool doesn't seem to be regularly cleaned, or perhaps it is and its just the number of people using the pool on a daily basis makes it too hard to keep clean. But I free dive so that means that for 25-50 meters of the pool I am submerged under the water while only taking a single breath. So I see everything at the bottom of the pool...EVERYTHING. And it's very dirty, but again I don't own a pool nor have I ever cleaned one. Either way, the problems that I've listed can in no way take away the fact that this great city has facilities like this that the public can use and it really enjoyable to have that. Just if we could keep them a bit cleaner would make it better but it is Public and really no Public place is clean. Hope everyone had a great summer!

Great option if you feel like you just want to chill in or by the pool. It's just a drop in . If you have kids then you might get stopped at the front for a wrist band. There are no lockers in this facility, free public parking and myself and some other kids did bring some pool toys. If you don't mind sharing the pool with kids then go have some fun in the water on a hot sunny day 😊

Nice place to swim, clean and water is heated. Bonus, it has parking!!

Very kind and professional staff members except for one male staff who doesn't seem alert every time hes guarding the pool.
