Annex Academy of Music

Our three kids have been studying music with Annex Academy of Music for two years, one on piano, one on bass and one on guitar. All three kids LOVE their music teachers and look forward to their weekly lessons. The option to be part of a band has been incredible for our bass playing son! The administration at Annex Academy is amazing. Any questions or concerns were addressed quickly and professionally in a collaborative and respectful manner. At the start of the pandemic Annex Academy pivoted seamlessly to virtual lessons and our kids continued to play and learn. In fact our youngest completed her grade one piano exam totally virtually! I highly recommend Annex Academy for all ages and musical ability!

I have been taking piano lessons with my young daughter at the Annex Academy of Music since 2017 and I just love it! The teachers are all incredibly prepared and wonderful both with children and adults alike. The school is also very special for the feel of community it generates and supports. They are also extremely flexible with accommodating preferred lesson times and have been one major point of reference in keeping myself and my child sane during the pandemic. Highly recommended!

Our 10 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons at Annex Academy of Music for 2 years. We are thrilled with the quality of the teachers and the program. She has had the opportunity to perform in a relaxed and wonderful concert at a local venue twice a year, which is a great experience for her and for our family to be able to see the talent of all the students. She has also been encouraged to take an exam at the end of each year - another great learning experience! The program is a perfect balance of learning music and fun.

An excellent place of learning. A friend told me about the music school as I was interested in voice & guitar classes. From initial contact, to scheduling classes, and working with the instructors, my experience with the Annex school is always pleasant - friendly, patient and very helpful. Instructors Jackson and Lauren have helped me improve my guitar and singing skills. Teri is always responsive and helpful. I aspired to tackle what I perceived to be advanced artists music like Stevie Ray Vaughn for guitar, and Adele, Lady Gaga for voice. Both Jackson and Lauren broke it down for me and helped me get to a point where i was playing/singing their music! As a student, this was a good feeling and gave me a sense of accomplishment! If you are looking for a place to learn music in a supportive, knowledgeable and friendly environment, the Annex Academy of Music is it!

My son loves his piano classes at the Annex Academy of Music! His teacher is very engaged, considerate and also makes learning piano fun! During the pandemic, the classes switched to Zoom, but were still very educational and fun. In fact, it was one of my son’s favourite activities. The Academy is well managed and very responsive to requests. We’re looking forward to continuing with the Academy in the fall, and I’d recommend classes there to anyone!
