Pottery: HiDe ceramic works

My partner and I travelled from Whistler to Vancouver for the 90 minute pottery class as I really wanted to try out pottery and there were no local options. It was worth the journey!! We had a great evening with our lovely instructor who showed us the ropes and was on hand whenever we needed some extra help. She was very friendly and enthusiastic about pottery and she was very encouraging, even when my bowl was on the brink of collapsing. It was a great introduction and the other ladies there doing their pottery work were also very nice. Their Covid protocols were good and we felt comfortable in the workshop. They’ve even been so kind as to hold onto our works for a little longer as we’re struggling to get to Vancouver while the travel advisory is in place. Overall would highly recommend trying out pottery here! We would love to go back for another session and look forward to seeing our finished works!

Don’t know if I can put the experience into words. I went on a Saturday morning to surprise my wife as we had never done pottery before. Ingrid and Patrick were the instructors, their teaching style was so helpful and informative and extremely fun. Didn’t realize how much I would laugh! You can tell the pieces they make must be outstanding as it’s crafted from love and knowledge. The people really make this place! 10/10 if you have any hesitations, go to this place! Cant wait to get our pieces!

Great studio overall! Would be full 5 stars other than turn around time for bisque and glaze firings can take a while when the studio is busy, and no update if a piece doesn't make it through. However, instructors are awesome and provide great support and direction, while also giving you time to work at your own pace and get creative. Great studio vibe, I always have a huge smile on my face when I'm there. Highly recommend.

I took my family for a 90-minute drop-in class. The instructor was great, friendly and very patient. We each made 2 items. The studio is friendly to newcomers and the instructor gives you a basic rundown of pottery techniques. The waiting period from the class to actually receiving the item is about 2 months due to the drying, firing and other processes. I’d definitely recommend bringing a date or family here for the class.

The two instructors that we had were so kind! I had an amazing time doing ceramics at the drop in class. The instructors happily guided us along when we had questions and even offered to help fix what we were not happy with. Amazing experience! :)
