I am Alain Paquette, Quebec author on health and food. The Pérignon farm is an interesting place, especially for its many varieties of blackcurrant. When I went the blueberries were pretty overgrown with weeds leaving 2 options: herbicides or low harvest. It was a longer and more difficult harvest given the weeds and I found the blueberries more acidic than those I normally eat in the Lower Laurentians, where I come from. That being said, when I am in the Magog region, I would not hesitate to go back there, it is a very nice place.

This farm is clearly indicated from the road, easy to access to go to the fields with a reception room where you bring your contents to weigh them first, before the kitchen (bring containers that are not too hollow so as not to crush your fruits by their weight). The bushes were really packed. We spooned 2.7kg in less than 30 min. very good and large blue. We met a polite man sorting blueberries and he checked to see if his sister was inside. She even offered to borrow a small container to help our kitchen. We went to pick blueberries at the Perignon farm, my brother and I, with our mother, during a beautiful car ride in the surroundings, the countryside is superb between Ayler’s Cliff and North Hatley. There are a few trees for shade if it's too hot.

Lots of U-pick blueberries, we bring our containers. The landscape is beautiful, the atmosphere is good. They also have U-pick black currants.
