Normand Boisvert is a national treasure. His art is full of vivacity, bold strokes of colour and a true sense of the deep complex character of Quebec. We bought our first painting by Normand Boisvert at an art gallery in Calgary over 20 years ago and have felt joy and awe living with it ever since. On the way to our new home in Nova Scotia, we decided to visit his atelier in Trois Rivieres in Quebec. As it was a Sunday, I was amazed that he was willing and happy to show us his gallery. The impact of being in the presence of one of Canada's cherished artists and his prolific craft was surreal. Normand is a self taught artist with heart and soul. Our new painting we chose with great deliberation in his Trois Rivieres atelier will grace our new home and hold a special place in our memories and hearts.
