There are a couple of sites that were created for the 1976 Olympic Games that have not managed to carve a place in the memory of Montrealers. One of them is the little known Olympic Basin. Le Bassin Olympique is a large artificial lake that is still used for rowing competitions. A few joggers and cyclists like to run or cycle along its edges. Visit during the week and you might end up having the place for yourself.

Beautifull place to walk, ride bicycle, rollerskate, etc. Its 2km long so more than 4km for one loop. There's not a lot of people so its peacefull.

To the administrators of the basin: Everyone can understand the Covid 19 restrictions for the dragon boats....however, for users of small boats ( Kayaks, canoes, outriggers, rowing) the question of social distancing and respecting its rule are almost part & parcel of the sport. We use lanes...we are never less than 10 meters apart...we bring our boats to the water edge, we train, we put our boats back in our OWN spot in the hangar....Then why not only a refusal bu receiving no encouragement as to WHEN ?
