Parc National Plaisance which is 1.5 hrs away from Montreal is an hidden gem. Its one of the best parks managed by SEPAQ with multiple activities (Kayaking, Hiking, Canoeing) rented in the visitors centre of park and pickup kayaks immediately next to visitor centre and car parking. Toilets in the visitor centre (clean). Hire a kayak or canoe for four hours and paddle to the falls (1.5 hrs to 2 hrs upstream through some scenic waterways and make sure to pack a sandwich for all) and park kayak nearby when you reach the heavy currents of the waterfall and walk up to the picnic tables overlooking the falls. Paddle downstream for another 1.5 hrs to return. A great day trip idea for folks nearby it or you camp there and explore nearby touristic region or go to Ottawa.

Paddled the Petite Nation River from the Ottawa River. A nice paddle up stream and back. Watch for fishing boats crossing the Ottawa river. Lots of foul to be seen in the wildlife park entrance. It was very relaxing. The park itself Consists of many boardwalk trails for a morning or afternoon walk.

Beautiful park! Sunday afternoon was super quiet. We were able to see lots of birds, muskrats, and rabbits. A very nice walking trail not too much mud.
