Nice experience with the discovery package. We had a tasting glass and 15 credits to spend. Many stands to visit and exhibitors are nice. We went on a Wednesday and the place was already full enough and made the traffic sometimes complicated. The address on Google Maps is wrong, this year the event is happening at Windsor Station.

Many people are uninformed when they come to this festival - All prices and description of event, along with the list of full vendors and beers are available online. The new concept since last year is electronic cards that you can reload with tickets. Use the same card for the coming years and you won't have to pay any added fees. You can also bring your own glass too as long as it fits their size requirements. I think this is 12 or 16 oz, Check online. I've been re-using my beer fest mug for the past years and there aren't any issues. Sample sizes are more generous if you bring your own glass versus the disposable plastic cups I find. I always print out the list of kiosks before hand and highlight everything I am interested in. I do my research prior to coming and it's a lot easier than wandering around without a clue what you want. This is fun event that has something for everyone. There is so much to sample. Come on a weekday or as soon as they open and there won't be a single line. The outdoor portion and mini park with benches is also perfect on a beautiful day to just relax and drink. This is an event I will not miss, I can sample quite a bite for around 20 to 30$ and you won't find this type of experience elsewhere. Sure you can also go to store and buy a pack of beer, but not as much variety for the same price.

I personally had a blast a few years ago, yes you pay an entrance fee to get a glass and you have to buy tickets to fill your glass - but the point is to try different beer, not get totally tanked (though it is not discouraged)

Lol listen to the complaining. First of all you have to strategically plan your beer fest. Step 1 don't buy the glass they offer, use the disposable plastic cups and or find a cheaper glass to buy on the inside. If they gave full servings of 9% + people would be fighting and vomitting everywhere. Beer fest is about getting out and having a fun evening $40 is more than enough for the average person. Many great snack vendors try the grilled cheese (not sandwich just pure cheese on a grill). It's to get out, stretch your legs, socialize with friends and experience a huge variety a beer at once. Stay home if you don't like socializing.
