Beautiful walk. Wonderful sandy beaches for the children make it an excellent, inexpensive way to pass the time. Keep in mind that the air is always colder at the lake (think 5-10c colder than the city). Dog walkers, kindly get your animals on tighter leashes, it's not fair to us survivors of dog bite attacks.

We visited the Rouge Beach Park section on the waterfront (Lake Ontario) where you can join the Waterfront Trail and walk to your hearts content. Lots of geese of course, but also numerous other waterfowl such as Bufflehead ducks. If you are able, highly recommend a sunrise visit as that can be spectacular. Parking is free but can be limited on weekends especially if the gate is closed to the lower lot. As it is a national park we display our annual park pass when in the lower lot.

Rouge National Urban Park is a wonderful park on the east side of the GTA. We visited during one of the coldest times in winter. The river froze over and many many people cleared up skating rectangles on the ice and were happily ice skating on the river. We had tons of fun. Looking forward to visiting during the warmer season.

Nice windy and cold walk today. The sandy beach is clean and soft. The other side (behind) of the beach is the marsh where you can walk for a clearer view. Quite scenic altogether.
