Uzume Taiko is West Coast Canada’s premiere professional taiko drumming group. Performing both nationally and internationally since 1988, the group has toured their unique West Coast Canadian taiko drumming styles internationally. I will demonstrate the media that I used in my series on the exterior side of the cradle board.- charcoal, mineral spirits and in addition, I will open up the opportunity to explore mixed media / found object on the interiorframed space as well, thereby expanding the storytelling by having it on both sides of the cradle board. A small cradle board / two sided one interior space one exterior space can tell quite an impactful, poetic visual story…with a variety of visual media.
