I personally had a blast a few years ago, yes you pay an entrance fee to get a glass and you have to buy tickets to fill your glass - but the point is to try different beer, not get totally tanked (though it is not discouraged)

The Montreal Arts Festival is a gem of creation in summer. Located in the Gay Village, they set up tents where local artists lend themselves to painting, caricature and even other crafts. If you have a minute or two, you, yourself, can participate in the artistic production.
